PSI Awarded Follow-up Contract from Austrian Teich AG

PSImetals automates production processes in new Foil Rolling Mill II

Berlin, 15 April 2010 - PSI has been awarded by the Austrian Teich AG with the delivery of the production management system PSImetals for expanding capacity of their new Foil Rolling Mill II in Weinburg. The goal of the project is to extend production capacity to meet the increased demand for flexible packaging. The Teich AG is already successfully using PSImetals for the planning and control of the production processes in Foil Rolling Mills I and II.

The two foil rolling mills at the Weinburg plant provide different kinds of foils for major customers and the company’s group. In 2007, Rolling Mill II was integrated with a fully-automated transportation control technology to extend capacity. With the implementation of PSImetals the new rolling stand, the cut-off machines, raw band and finishing forges will be integrated. This will allow for a quick reaction to changes, adherence to delivery dates and greater transparency while simultaneously reducing stocks.

Teich Aktiengesellschaft, headquartered 60 km west of Vienna in Weinburg, employs more than 750 persons and is a subsidiary of Constantia Flexibles, which in turn is a segment of the listed Constantia Packaging AG. The company is an internationally leading provider of flexible packaging materials. Products for the dairy industry, candy, food and pet food industries as well as international pharmaceutical corporations are produced and delivered from the most important raw materials aluminum, paper and plastics. A high-tech aluminum rolling mill with fully-automated material transportation system and high-bay warehouse, a vertically integrated production and foil supply for all of Constantia Flexibles represent the company’s specialities.

PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,400 persons in the group.
