PSI Receives New Orders from the Vallourec Group

PSImetals for the Youngstown finishing mill and the new forge at Changzhou

Berlin, 11 August 2011 – PSI was commissioned to deliver PSImetals as the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the new small diameter finishing mill of Vallourec & Mannesmann USA at the plant in Youngstown, Ohio, and for the new forge for big diameter tubes of Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes at Changzhou in China. PSI already delivered PSImetals Production and Quality as well as PSImetals Logistics for the hot rolling mill for seamless pipes in Youngstown.

Vallourec is already successfully using PSImetals at plants in Europe and South America and will expand its use to North America and Asia with the new projects. At the Youngstown plant, Vallourec & Mannesmann USA is building a new state of the art small diameter rolling mill to support the anticipated increase in demand for seamless tubes that is associated with the expansion of natural gas production in the USA. At the Changzhou plant, Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes is building a new state of the art big diameter forge to support the anticipated increased in demand for big diameter seamless tubes in China.
