Next stop was our long-term customer voestalpine Grobblech - a heavy plate manufacturer - to discuss latest market as well as product developments. And finally we drove to Leoben, in the southern part of Austria, for a visit at voestalpine Donawitz. After an interesting afternoon with the customer, the 2019 tour ended in Graz – one of two PSI locations in Austria.
Continuing “The Journey” led the PSIbus to Austria, home country of several innovative PSI customers, to introduce our latest developments around the PSImetals Service Platform. The trip started with a visit to the aluminum producer AMAG in the northern part of Austria.
The first trip of the physical PSIbus was to Rath and Mühlheim to the company Vallourec in September. The bus opened its doors directly in front of the office buildings to watch videos or try out virtual reality on a mobile phone. Meanwhile, the quality was intelligently tested in the steel mill prototype.
The digital transformation is a journey that will not be accomplished in a single step. But every journey begins with the first step. And the architecture for an evolutionarily integrated Production Management is our major step on the journey towards digital transformation.
